History of the firm

B.E White was founded in 1899 by Bernard Edwin White. Bernard White gained his knowledge of electricity from working on the London Underground in the late 1890's.  He was the first person in Chobham to have electric lights and soon he was installing lights for the local gentry.  He worked from home in Chobham and then from Brixton at the turn of the 20th century when his company B.E. White Motor Haulage Contractor and Electrical Engineer was thriving. He rented a property in Pomeroy Street london until 1930 when the present day factory was built in Tottenham. The factory sits on a one acre site and took over a year to build. There is a five ton gantry crane that runs the length of the building, which is 300 ft long by 50 ft wide. The business has remained in the family and now the forth generation is working there.  B.E. White have been associated with companies such as MEM and Crompton since the 1920's.  Over the years the company has built up a vast wealth of knowledge and items from a wide variety of companies.  We can source products from all over the world and can cater for trade enquiries or large call off orders from OEM's.
